- Discussed attendance to 6th Annual Lincoln County Special District Information Sharing Meeting on 10/29/2011. Bill and Alex plan to attend.

Review of District's Assets

We review our assets annually. Assets include such things as vehicles and tools. Silver Sands Special Road District has no assets.

Old Business

Road edge and asphalt clearing completed this past month. We borrowed a leaf blower for the task.

Panels for the guardrail on Powe St. are complete. We discussed next steps toward completion.

New Business

There is one area of asphalt that is cracking and and may warrant repair before winter.

Public Notice: Approved Budget for SSRD

Public Notice

A public hearing on the approved budget for Silver Sands Special Road District, Lincoln County, State of Oregon, for the fiscal year July 1,2011 to June 30, 2012, will be held at 1624 NW Sarkisian Dr.

The hearing will take place on June 24, at 1 pm.

The purpose of the hearing is to discuss the budget with interested persons.

Agent of Record Review

Rick Hill agreed to remain as Agent of Record for Silver Sands Special Road District.

Old Business

We discussed purchasing a gas powered leaf blower to clear the road edge and help maintain the asphalt. We made plans to test before we buy. It would be purchased using the neighborhood donation fund.

For the guardrail on Powe St., we agreed to review CAD drawings for potential re-use, and check the post spread required by the terrain.

New Business

Later in April (date TBD) we will meet to begin the budget planning process.

We purchased a $5000 CD on 12/14/2010

Old Business

We reviewed costs of the Sarkisian Dr. guardrail/walkway project and estimated a guardrail on Powe St. would cost less than $1000.

New Business

We reviewed the following items:

• Alex Derr' reappointment to the committee. Term expires 12/31/2013.
• Best Practices Report for insurance through SDAO. Reduces our bill by 9%, to $730.
• Insurance certificate.
• Public Contracting Laws.

Old Business

We received and deposited our road district tax levy check from the Lincoln County Treasurer: $3638.52.

Our semi-annual loan payment of $988 has been paid.

Our current bank account balance is $6215.56.

New Business

Our bank account balance is sufficient to consider shifting some of it to a CD. Local 4-year CD rates have risen to 2.5%. Given the nature of the economy, we agreed we should invest now.

We continued discussions of adding a guardrail on Powe St. at the creek. Our current thought is to build a guardrail similar to the one on Sarkisian, but without the walkway. The walkway was almost half the total cost of materials, and required nearly half of the labor.

Next month's meeting is tentatively scheduled for 1/7/2011 at 8 am Sea Dog Cafe.
